English Premier League Results and Standings for Week One of the 2025/2026 Season
The first week of the 2025/2026 Premier League season has concluded with a variety of exciting matches. Several big teams secured victories, but some Premier League giants also experienced less than optimal results.
Defending champions Liverpool secured a convincing victory when they hosted Bournemouth. Playing at Anfield Stadium on Saturday, August 16, 2025, Arne Slot's squad won 4-2.
On the same day, Tottenham Hotspur hosted Burnley in the first week of the Premier League season. Tottenham defeated their visitors with a convincing 3-0 scoreline in the match held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, another giant, Manchester City, visited Wolverhampton Wanderers' home ground, Molineux Stadium. Pep Guardiola's team put in a strong performance, securing a resounding 0-4 victory.
Chelsea suffered a disappointing encounter when they hosted Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. Playing in front of their home crowd, Chelsea could only manage a 0-0 draw, kicking off their Premier League campaign with a disappointing result.
Manchester United suffered a worse result when they hosted Arsenal at Old Trafford. Manchester United failed to secure a win and lost to the Gunners by a narrow 0-1 scoreline.
There's still one match left in the first week of the Premier League season, between Leeds United and Everton. This match will be played on August 18, 2025, at Ellan Road, Leeds' home ground.
