Having secured their place as the world's best club in 2025, Chelsea's players and entire squad will be showered with fantastic bonuses. It is reported that the entire Chelsea squad will receive bonuses totaling over £10 million.
Chelsea is expected to generate approximately $114.6 million (£84.4 million) in revenue from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Approximately $15.5 million (£11.4 million) will be distributed equally among the players.
With this amount, each Chelsea player participating in the tournament will receive $500,000 each before currency conversion from US dollars to British pounds, in addition to relevant employer fees, taxes, and social security costs.
In this event, Chelsea took home a prize pool of over $100 million. Meanwhile, PSG, who finished second in the four-week tournament in the United States, won $106.9 million, and Real Madrid $82.5 million.
This revenue helped fund Chelsea's busy pre-season. Furthermore, Chelsea added new signings by bringing Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, and Liam Delap to Stamford Bridge.
Joao Pedro Can't Wait
Chelsea's new signing, Joao Pedro, admitted he can't wait to play for Chelsea. The Blues will make their Premier League debut against Crystal Palace on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
"The other players deserve a rest; they've had a long season. But I think everyone is now refreshed and ready for next season," he said, as reported by the club's official website.
The Brazilian striker, who joined from Brighton & Hove Albion from Chelsea, chose to prepare immediately after his preseason with Chelsea. He arrived early at Chelsea's Cobham training center ahead of the new season.
"I trained at Cobham beforehand because I came back straight after the final. I had already had a holiday, so I came straight away to find a house to move from Brighton to Cobham. So I was there before everyone else. I spent four days in Spain to relax after the final, but I had already rested early. I went back to Brazil for five weeks before joining Chelsea. It was good, so that's why I went straight back to training," he said.
He said it felt strange at first after settling in at Cobham because everything was new. However, as time went on, he felt comfortable at Cobham.
"Luckily, Jamie [Gittens, another summer signing] was there, so we spent a lot of time training together. It was great to be able to train with him from the start," he said.
He credits the familiarity he's already developed with his new teammates for his strong start in the Blues shirt, but he's not satisfied yet, determined to continue reaching new heights once the new season begins.
"It's been a great experience from the start. I've been very comfortable, probably because I've been in England for five years and played against them, so I know the players. Of course, it's always difficult for new players to join in the middle of a tournament, but they've been very welcoming to me. Reece [James] spoke to me, and Tosin [Adarabioyo] and Enzo [Fernandez] sent me text messages on my first day," he said.***
